Location in the centre of Florence, 5 minutes walking to e.g. Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio; housed in a big, old Florentine building which gives a very authentic feel to your stay in this city; staff was very friendly and helpful, giving tips what to do, where to eat, reserving tickets for museums etc; big room; big kitchen to make your own breakfast with basics like coffee, tea, juice, toast, jam, nutella and pastries provided for free; free wifi.

Strong smell of the fragrance sticks (air fresheners) in the hotel was too dominant for my taste.

Stayed in one of the single rooms overlooking a tiny square. Yes, there is some noise from the bar below but it is to be expected. Sitting in 'my' room on the 4th floor with the sounds of a saxophone drifting in. Not bad on a Sunday night in April.

THe two sister's that run the hotel were so friendly and helpful! They gave me a map on which they marked where all the main attractions were, where good restaurants were, and where I could find supermarkets. I was given my own key to come and go as I pleased. One also has access to kitchen stocked with many delicious things - so one can make a snack at any time of day or night. The room was so clean and comfortable, and the view from my room was amazing!

Excellent directions from the Railway Station to the hotel made it very easy to get there quickly on foot. Very friendly and informative welcome from Francesca, the "come and go style" was great, and the help yourself coffee & cakes in the kitchen were a very nice touch.

First day the hotel staff gave us a map where they wrote down their personal recommendations for food, buses and all. We tried the restaurants and they were simply amazing!

Absolutely loved Relais Cavalcanti! Definitely one of my favorite places I've stayed in all my travels. Anna was so welcoming and friendly showing me everything I needed to know and providing a map she marked up with the must see places. I had a single room as I was traveling on my own. It was cozy, comfortable, super clean, safe and just felt like home. A breakfast isn't provided but they do have a kitchen where you are free to make toast, tea/coffee at anytime of the day and they provide pastries as well. The location was excellent. Only a 3-5 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio and many of the sights. Highly recommend staying here!

It was a bit loud on the Saturday night as there are pubs around but this is typical when traveling to cities in Italy.

It was a great location, very clean and you had access to a kitchen area.

The staff was very helpful with recommendations, although not particularly friendly. We really didnt like this hotel at all

The rooms were really gross; Our room stank of sewage/mould even though we got the superior room; the stench was so bad it gave us a headache. We left the next night, but still got charged for the next day; we didnt say it was bc of the smell because the staff did not seem to be very receptive amd we wanted to get out asap and without hassles. The breakfast/eating room was a joke; the only edible things were some cookiies. Everything else had gone bad or was stale. This is a hotel for low budget travellers who dont mind stinky rooms and low level service; although i am willing to bet you could find a better deal for the same price. It was the worst experience from our italian trip; i really wouldnt recommend it to anyone

The staff were incredibly helpful. They made a number of recommendation for food and activities that were off the beaten track and incredibly good. The location was also incredible, 2 minutes to the Ponte Vechio. Amazing.

Advantage : Really nice b & b ! Good view from the room. Decoration of the whole hotel is great , really warm and comfort. Large and full- equipped pantry , although no breakfast service . You can cook yourself , just like a hostel ! Great location , at the town center ! Disadvantages : a little bit far from Florence main train station. You must climb up about 25-steps staircase to the elevator, really bad for a large luggage traveler . Socer : 90/100
